Cemaes Bay Community
There is a strong sense of community spirit in Cemaes Bay with over 20 community organisations meeting on a regular basis. Community groups are very welcome to have a page on this web site free of charge.  Please email cemaesbay@live.co.uk and the website director will contact you.

Cwmni Cemaes Cyf commissioned a community appraisal report in 2009 to help identify the needs of the community resulting in a number of development projects/services being highlighted for consideration;

Establish a Youth Forum/Committee

Create facilities and activities to develop a beach culture in the village especially for children and young people

Develop the snooker club as a facility for young people or possibly the library if it is closed

Expand on the current Heritage Centre and incorporate a tourist information centre

Secure a sustainable income for Llanbadrig and Mechell communities from the electricity generated from a wind turbine.

Environmental improvements to the Wygyr Valley

Improve security at the Pier

Tregele Playing fields development

Designate the High Street as a conservation area

Refurbish Pier Bach at Penrhyn headland to attract more marine leisure activity

Relaunch the Celtic Festival on a small scale

Some of these projects are under way and news of their development will feature on this page in the near future.

Llais Cemaes Voice - the bilingual village newsletter - was developed as a result of the community’s call for better communication.  Launched in April 2010 It has proved to be a great success and continues to go from strength to strength.
